The Indo-Pacific Space and Earth Conference will be held on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th October 2023 at The Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth, Australia.

The Welcome Reception will be held on Sunday 22nd October, 5.30pm – 7.30pm on the rooftop of the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

Optional industrial site visits have been arranged for Wednesday 25nd October and Thursday 26th October 2023.

This will take place on Sunday 22nd October, 5.30pm – 7.30pm on the rooftop of the Art Gallery of Western Australia. You can opt in for this when you go through the registration process.

After the conference ends, we have arranged several industrial site visits on Wednesday 25th (University of Western Australia and Curtin University) and Thursday 26th October (Australian Automation of Robotics Precinct and Fugro SpAARC).

Our 2nd release tickets at $999pp end on 20th Sept or until allocation is exhausted.
Our 3rd release tickets at $1,099pp end on 8th October or until allocation is exhausted.
Our final release tickets are $1,299pp.

For all of our attendees coming in from overseas or interstate, we’ve secured a special rate of $285 AUD per night at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Perth. This includes breakfast and is a special rate that’s only available until 23rd September. It can be booked through the registration portal on our website.

After 23rd September, bookings are subject to the best available rate found on the hotel’s website directly.

Rooms are likely to sell out fast, so we highly recommend booking early.

Absolutely! We have planned various networking sessions and events to help you connect with fellow delegates, speakers, and industry leaders.

The optional industrial site visits that have been arranged on Wednesday 25th (University of Western Australia and Curtin University) and Thursday 26th October (Australian Automation of Robotics Precinct and Fugro SpAARC) are also great networking opportunities.

Business casual attire is appropriate for most conference sessions and events, but we recommend checking the agenda for any specific dress code requirements for certain activities.

VISA OPTIONS

Participants, attendees and speakers that will not be working, performing or otherwise be paid to contribute at the event may be eligible to apply for the following visa options:

  • Visitor (subclass 600) Business stream visa. For more information click here.
  • Electronic Travel Authority – ETA (subclass 601). For eligible passport holders and more information click here.
  • eVisitor (subclass 651) Business stream visa. For eligible passport holders and more information click here.

Eligibility for an eVisitor visa and ETA will be determined by the country of passport that the applicant holds.

The visa application charge (VAC) for the Visitor (subclass 600) visa can be waived for an applicant who applies in the course of acting as a representative of a foreign government and provides the department with supporting evidence.  In most cases, such persons will identify themselves at time of application by presenting a diplomatic, or official, passport, however applicants can also provide other types of supporting evidence , such as a third person note of support from their government.

 

Attendees, speakers and exhibitors that will be working, or otherwise be paid to contribute at the event may be eligible to apply for one of the following visa options:

  • Temporary Activity (subclass 408) Invited participant visa (where there is an inviting Australian organisation). Click here for more information. Please note that a the letter of support from an Australian organisation is a legislative requirement for the Temporary Activity (subclass 408) Invited participant visa.
  • Temporary Work (subclass 400) Short Stay Specialist visa (where there is no inviting Australian organisation). Click here for more information.

NB: These are the visa options available presently but the Department reserves the right to change regulations.

 

BIOMETRICS

Visa applicants outside of Australia will need to provide biometrics when they apply for a visa that is part of the Australian biometrics program, or where they are from a country, or located in a country at time of application that is part of the Australian biometrics program.

VISA APPLICATION PROCESS AND PROCESSING TIMES

Visa applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and actual processing times can vary due to individual circumstances including:

  • whether the applicant has lodged a complete application, including all necessary supporting documents and paid associated visa application charges
  • how promptly the applicant responds to any requests for additional information
  • how long it takes to perform required checks on the supporting information provided
  • how long it takes to receive information from external agencies, particularly in relation to health, character, and national security requirements
  • when the application is lodged taking the current global visa processing times into account

Processing times are impacted each month by cases that are complex, changes to volume of applications and changes to Ministerial Directions.  More information can be found on the Visa Processing Times page.

Visitor (subclass 600) Business visa applicants should include as much information as possible to support their visa applications (find out more information here). In addition, visa applicants should include the following information:

  • evidence of any international travel outside of their own country (for example, copies of visas and passport pages containing entry and departure stamps)
  • information and evidence of attendance at similar events of this type/nature.

NB: IECN assistance will NOT guarantee a visa grant. Visa applicants must demonstrate that they meet all the legislative requirements for an Australian visa.

To assist timely processing by Australia’s visa offices overseas, you can complete the attached bio-data collection sheet as event participants are invited to your event and email it to: iecn@homeaffairs.gov.au

NB: In accordance with Australia’s Privacy Act 1988, any information an event organiser or participant provides to the IECN will only be used to facilitate visa processing with the relevant Australian visa office overseas.
