Joel is an accomplished multi-disciplinary security professional with over 15 years of experience in enterprise IT environments, across a variety of industries and sectors. With a strong technical background and developed skillset ranging from security infrastructure, engineering, and operations expertise, to governance, risk, and compliance functions; Joel now heads up a global security practice for an ASX200 listed mining services Group called Perenti, with operations in Australia, Africa, and North America.
Focused on developing and implementing robust and pragmatic security strategies and solutions, Joel’s experience in both building and leading high-performing teams has resulted in significant security capability maturity, and cultural shift regardless of role or organisation.

Joel holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, majoring in Computer Security from Edith Cowan University, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in good standing with the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2.
